Pricing explained

What the headline rate means.

01

Most US categories use a 13.6% baseline

For sellers without a Store or with a Starter Store, eBay currently lists 13.6% for most categories on the portion of a sale up to $7,500, then 2.35% on the portion above $7,500. Category exceptions can be much lower or higher.

02

The per-order fee changes at $10

Orders of $10 or less use a $0.30 per-order fee, while orders over $10 use $0.40. The calculator now applies this threshold automatically using the average order amount when multiple transactions are entered.

03

eBay applies the percentage to the total sale amount

The final value fee is generally calculated on the item price plus buyer-paid shipping, handling, sales tax, and other applicable amounts. Using only the item price can therefore understate the fee.

04

Most casual sellers receive 250 free listings

eBay currently provides up to 250 zero-insertion-fee listings per month for most casual sellers, then charges $0.35 for additional listings. Store plans, promoted listings, upgrades, labels, and international fees are separate.
